Stranger Things is a science fiction anthology television series and video podcast created by Earl Newton. Set in the modern world, each self-contained episode blends a mixture of science fiction, fantasy, and horror, exposing bizarre and extraordinary things happening every day.

Stranger Things is the first science fiction anthology series to shoot in high definition and release its content online for free, predating even ABC's Masters of Science Fiction and SCI FI's Sanctuary. The show premiered March 1, 2007, originally as a video podcast. On May 25, 2008, at the Balticon science fiction convention, creator Earl Newton announced that starting June 1, 2008, Stranger Things would be syndicated on television on Illusion On-Demand.[1]

Stranger Things's theme music is "Exurgency" by Zoë Keating from the EP One Cello x 16.

Stranger Things was a finalist in the 2007 Parsec Awards for Best Video Podcast and Best Video Production.[2]
