[edit] List of notable artists

What do folks think of the fit of the "notable artists" section of this article? I'm concerned that it contravenes the Wikipedia policies as an "indiscriminate collection of information" and original research without supporting references. In its current form, the list is already unwieldy (in my humble opinion), and without some filtering mechanism could conceivably grow to a ridiculous and virtually useless list of thousands of artists.

If consensus is that such a filter would make the article better, as a preliminary suggestion, may I suggest something along the lines of limiting mentions in the article of particular artists in the article to either (1) a short list of very well-known artists who have played at the venue (to establish its bonafides for folks who want to get a feel for the place) and/or (2) narrative descriptions of artists' specific noteworthy performances at the venue. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Wtroopwept (talkcontribs) 19:30, 27 March 2007 (UTC).
