I'm not from the area, so I don't know if the meanings are 100% correct. That "Delta" is used to refer to the area all the way up to Illinois surprised me though. Here is one such website that uses this definition, so you don't think I'm crazy. --Interiot 05:06, 6 September 2005 (UTC)

It's true, and surprised me too -- but everyone I talked to in Arkansas refered to east Arkansas as "The Delta". Pfly 06:35, 23 August 2006 (UTC)

According to the Mississippi embayment article, the Mississippi Delta is part of the Mississippi embayment which means the map is inaccurate. Nurg (talk) 22:20, 31 December 2007 (UTC)

I edited the text to reflect this, although the map could be made clearer to be sure, and perhaps my text could be improved upon too. Pfly (talk) 04:46, 1 January 2008 (UTC)
