Misty Dawn (born May 15, 1963 in Henderson, Nevada) is the pseudonym of adult film actress Laurie Rose.

She was married to the late adult film actor John Holmes from 1987 until his death from complications from AIDS on March 13, 1988. In addition to Misty Dawn, she also used the name Laurie Diamond. According to those who worked with her, the 5'2", 100-pound Rose looked far younger and would often dress to accentuate her youthful appearance in many of her numerous "loops" and 61 credited feature films.

Laurie Rose was one of the industry's most notorious anal sex queens, and by all accounts she excelled in her field. According to adult film actor-turned anti-porn moral crusader Luke Ford, the first time she met Holmes was in December, 1982 on the film set for the porn feature film Marathon in San Francisco soon after he was released from jail in connection to the Wonderland Murders, which involved the brutal quadruple slaying of the widely feared Wonderland Gang. They supposedly had sex before they even filmed a scene.^[1]

For a brief time in the mid-1980s, she and her husband John Holmes were in business with Bill Amerson in an adult film company known as Penquin Productions. The Holmes also lived at Amerson's mansion in the LA suburbs. (Holmes was godfather to Amerson's children)

In 1998, Laurie Rose-Holmes-Montana released John Holmes autobiography called Porn King. The book is currently out of print. First edition copies have sold for as much as $500.^{[citation needed]}

Laurie is currently married to former adult film actor Tony Montana, who has been diagnosed as being HIV positive. Laurie still remains HIV negative.

In 1999, Laurie Rose-Holmes sued John Holmes' former manager Bill Amerson and the adult film company VCA Pictures for defamation of character, alleging that they stated that she was engaged in prostitution. She later dropped the lawsuit. Also in 1999, Rose made a return to adult films after a 15-year retirement with the lesbian flick 75 Orgies. She returned again in 2003 in the film Hot 40+4, the mature XXX series.
