Route 283 is a short highway in the Kansas City, Missouri area. Its northern terminus is at Interstate 29/U.S. Route 71 in Kansas City; its southern terminus is at Route 9 in North Kansas City. It is known locally as Oak Trafficway. It connects a handful of small independent subdivisions to nearby Gladstone, Missouri and North Kansas City, Missouri, and connects them in turn to Kansas City, Missouri itself. The highway is host to more of the Gladstone area's shopping than any other single road. While it is nowhere a limited access highway, it is four lanes wide from its southern terminus to its junction with Route 152.
