Missouri Library Network Corporation

The Missouri Library Network Corporation (MLNC) was founded on October 19, 1981 by the representatives of thirty-one Missouri libraries.

The mission of MLNC is to organize and deliver to its member libraries and other contracting entities OCLC-based information services, related electronic services and content, and training in the management and use of information.

MLNC became a provider of OCLC services for Missouri libraries on July 1, 1983. In addition to serving as the OCLC Regional Network for the state of Missouri, MLNC provides discounts on a variety of library-related products and services, including electronic reference databases from vendors such as LexisNexis, Oxford University Press, CQ, and others and library supply catalogs (such as DEMCO and Brodart).

MLNC also offers a wide range of workshops on OCLC products, library automation, Internet technologies, and library-related continuing education topics.

In July 1993, MLNC became the OCLC Union List Agent for MIGI, the Missouri Union List of Serials, on OCLC. MLNC provides training and support for updating of serial holdings online.

MLNC also administers the OCLC FirstSearch Group currently made up of forty Missouri libraries.

Except for OCLC, MLNC products and services are available to libraries and institutions outside of Missouri.
