Mississauga Secondary School is a high school located in Mississauga, Ontario. It operates under the Peel District School Board.
Mississauga Secondary School offers a full range of courses providing all students the opportunity to obtain a secondary school diploma as outlined in Ontario Secondary Schools Grades 9 to 12, Program and Diploma Requirements, 1999. Our school offers a wide range of programs addressing the needs of all students, whether their destination is the workplace, an apprenticeship, college or university. The curriculum being taught optimizes successful pathways to multiple destinations after high school. The variety of courses offered serve the diverse needs of all learners, supporting student retention until goals are realized.
The technology programs offered include transportation, manufacturing, hospitality and cosmetology. Students have the opportunity to take courses in broadcast arts as well as traditional visual, musical and dramatic arts. The latest technology is made accessible for both students and teachers so that learning and teaching are enriched. Subjects such as Mathematics, Science, History, Geography and Languages are enhanced with this accessibility to technology. Mississauga Secondary School was Canada's first Secondary School to receive international recognition for its highly effective use of technology. Mississauga Secondary School is Canada's first SMART Showcase School.
Celebration of student success is evident on a regular basis throughout the school year. Character education is inherent in all of the courses taught and is embedded in our code of conduct. The school embraces a culture of pride, respect and responsibility. Students are given the responsibility to take care of their physical environment and common spaces. Connections with family and community are valued and fostered.
