Mission County proposal
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Mission County was a proposed county in the northern part of Santa Barbara County, California initiated in 2002 by disaffected residents who felt their interests were not being heard. An advisory commission was formed to look into the formation of the proposed county. The commission published its final report in March 2005. [1] Having completed its deliberations, the organization has been formally disbanded. Residents of Santa Barbara County strongly rejected the formation of the new county on June 6, 2006. [2]
