Mission Blues first came together as the musical part of a monthly youth outreach in 1991 that lasted a little over a year. The band progressed and began to draw its musical influence from various other styles. With elements of Rock, Blues and Jazz, the music really ventures out creating a sound that everyone can connect with. The mission of the band is to encourage Christians to walk in intimacy with Christ and to reach out to unbelievers with the good news of the grace found in Jesus Christ. Mission Blues performs a blend of original material and a few songs written by other artists

[edit] New musical direction

1995-1997

The year was 1996 and several new members, mainly female vocalists, were added and the group's style and genre had changed to more of a female vocal cover band, playing music of groups like "Sierra"

Three ladies who called themselves "Mission of Mercy" join the group, adding a distinct harmonic vocal style. Chris Lee, Sandee McMillian, and Rebecca ? The combination of the old style and new style music made for some interesting concerts in the downtown Lee's Summit area.

This era was short-lived, and after several attempts with different member configurations the group disbanded and seemed to finished permanantly
