The Miss Venezuela 1998 pageant was held in Caracas, Venezuela in 11 September 1998. The pageant was won by Carolina Indriago of Delta Amacuro, the first black Miss Venezuela. Indriago was crowned by outgoing queen Veruska Ramírez of Táchira. 30 delegates competed for the crown.

[edit] Notes

  • Carolina Indriago was 3rd runner-up at the Miss Universe 1999 pageant.
  • Veronica Schneider was unplaced at Miss World. Later, she became a successful soap opera actress.
  • Barbara Perez never made it to Miss International. By the time she had to compete, the 1999 Miss Venezuela pageant had already taken place. Andreina Llamozas was sent instead.
  • Daira Lambis won the International Queen of Coffee contest in Manizales, Colombia. She was also the 1st runner-up at Reina Sudamericana.
  • None of the remaining semi-finalists competed in international pageants.
  • Angie Perez (Barinas) and Johanna Grimaldo (Tachira) competed in the 2000 pageant "Miss Republica Bolivariana de Venezuela".
