Monica is the debut album by American R&B singer Monica, released in the United States on July 18, 1995 on Rowdy Records. The album was primarily produced by Dallas Austin, with additional production from other producers in his DARP production camp (Soulshock & Karlin, Tim & Bob, Darryl Simmons, etc). It peaked at #36 on the U.S. Billboard 200 charts and spawned four singles. The album sold more than 3.4 million to date and went 3x Platinum. Also, the album yielded two consecutive number-one-singles on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart: "Don't Take It Personal" and the double-A-side singles "Like This and Like That"/"Before You Walk out of My Life".
