Miss Teen International is an international beauty pageant that brings about 20-30 young women representing their country in order to win the crown of Miss Teen International. The contestants are largely from Latin America, although in some years countries from other regions have been represented. The current titleholder from Brazil, Isabelle Sanches, was crowned Miss Teen International 2008 on March 8, 2008 in San José, Costa Rica. In 2006 the first English contestant was represented, the winner of the reality show ASBO Teen to Beauty Queen was sent to the pageant under the guidance of former beautyqueen and tv host Michelle Fryatt.
