As a result, Miss Earth Philippines and Miss Earth pageants were born in 2001.
[edit] Delegates

The winners those contest in turn compete with 12 more contestants from the National Capital Region for the coveted title. In 2006, Carousel Production opened the contest to Filipina women of foreign ancestry, or living abroad.
The winner of Miss Earth Philippines goes on to represent her country in the Miss Earth.
Starting this year, the first runner-up or Miss Air, will officially be designated the Miss Philippines Tourism Queen International (TQI) title and will have a chance to compete at Miss Tourism Queen International (TQI) pageant in April of 2009.
