Miss London Ltd. (1943) is a British musical comedy film, directed by Val Guest, starring Arthur Askey as the head of an escort agency in wartime London. He is assisted in this role by Evelyn Dall and soon has railway clerk Anne Shelton on the books. The opening sequence of the film features the latter singing "The 8.50 Choo Choo For Waterloo Choo" at Waterloo Station before she is recruited for his escort agency by 'Arthur Bowman' (Askey). The film is notable for a surreal self parodic sequence in which the latter, in order to gain entrance to an hotel, 'pretends' to be the famous Arthur Askey:

Joc Nelson (Jack Train): "Everybody says you look like him. Go in and say you are Arthur Askey"

Arthur Bowman (Askey): "Ooh Arthur Askey. I can't stand that silly little man...Arthur Askey...he stinks"

[Enters hotel]

Arthur: "Hello playmates! I thank you! I thank you! I thank you! Geddit?"

Romero the waiter (Max Bacon): "Get what?"

Arthur: "I'm Arthur Askey!"

Romero: "Arthur Askey?"

Arthur: "Big Hearted Arthur that's me!"

Romero: "You are Arthur Askey? Prove it - say something corny!"

At which point Arthur sings the (corny) "Moth Song". Later in the film he does an impersonation of Harpo Marx whilst Evelyn Dall does an impression of Groucho.
