Miss Dominican Republic Universe 1989 was held on January 21, 1989. 28 candidates are competed for the national crown. The winner represented the Dominican Republic at the Miss Universe 1989 . The Miss Mundo Dominicana will enter Miss World 1989. The Reina Nacional de Belleza Miss República Dominicana Internacional will enter Miss International 1989. Only the 27 province, 1 Community entered. The Pageant was in El Auditorio de El Cibao Oriental de la Universidad Medica de la Provincia Duarte in San Francisco de Macorís. On the top 10 they showed their evening gown and answered questions so the could go to the top 5. In the top 5 they would answered more questions. The country will also send a candidate to Miss International. They have 25 years since they sent a candidate to Miss International.
