Miss Dominican Republic Universe 1983 was held on March 2, 1983. 28 candidates are competed for the national crown. The winner represented the Dominican Republic at the Miss Universe 1983 . The Miss Mundo Dominicana will enter Miss World 1983. Only the 27 province, 1 muncipality entered. The Pageant was in El Auditorio de la Universidad Technologico de Santiago in Santiago de los Caballeros. On the top 10 they showed their evening gown and answered questions so the could go to the top 5. In the top 5 they would answered more questions.
