Miss Caraibe Hibiscus is a beauty contest held in St. Martin in Guadeloupe every December. The contest was funded by a guadeloupean bussinessman , Davig Eugène. Countries from the Caribbean and Latin America participate. Peru has won the contest two years in a row.

This is a wonderful opportunity for all Caribbean countries, though their respective representatives, to meet and discover one another. It allows each young lady to speak of her country, its traditions, and specifics and to share this information with her competitors, as well as those persons she will encounter during the two weeks of competition and its finals. As a result of this opportunity, it seems obvious that the Caribbean is like that of a laboratory, a forerunner in the integration of various cultures, peoples and races. The vision of our world today reveals a result of groups of inter-racially mixed people, who co-exist without conflict of prejudice, where each person recognizes each other's differences and individualiyies.
