Miss Canada Pakistan Inc. was founded in 2002 in Ottawa, Ontario. Founder Sonia Ahmed's mission was to create an international beauty pageant allowing women of Pakistani decent to compete on a global scale. The re-naming of the pageant as Miss Pakistan World occurred in 2005.

The taboo nature of these pageants has since been challenged with several winners of Miss Pakistan World going on to compete and win titles at several international pageants.

The spin off pageant of Mrs. Pakistan World took place in 2006 and has seen its winners go on to compete in Mrs. World and Mrs. Globe.
