Miss Barbados

Miss Barbados Usually refers to one of two Pageants. Either the Miss Barbados World pageant or the Miss Barbados Universe pageant.

It is not to be mistaken for the Miss Barbados World Pageant which selects delegates for the Miss World Pageant. Its National Director is Stephanie Chase winner of the inaugural talent award at the 2002 Miss World Pageant.

Miss Barbados Universe is the pageant for selecting a delegate to represent Barbados at the Miss Universe pageant.

They are the most prestigious pageants in a country that, has many beauty Pageants.

Miss Barbados Universe sent its first contestant to Miss Universe in 1978 and has sent 11 delegates between 1978 and 2005. They have never sent a delegate for more than 5 years in a row. After the death of the National Director , Andy Niles it was unsure as to whether they will participate in 2005. Andy Niles was national Director from 2003 to 2005.

As of 2005 Barbados Has never placed at Miss Universe or received a National award

Barbados has been slightly more successful at Miss World with one Semifinalist. Linda Fields in 1974 and Stephanie chase who won the talent competition in 2001
