Misilmeri is a town and commune in the province of Palermo, Sicily, Italy.It is located approximately 15 km (9 miles) from Palermo and its name means " the resting place or the messuage of the Emir", and dates from when the Saracens ruled Sicily and named it Manzil-Al-Emir.
The population is approximately 24,000 people. Misilmeri is in the Eleuterio Valley on the southern slopes of Montagna Grande. The altitude is approximately 129 meters above sea level.
