Misawa Station

Misawa Station (三沢駅 Misawa-eki?) is the principal railroad station in the city of Misawa, Aomori Prefecture, Japan.
Two railroads stop at Misawa: JR East Tohoku Main Line and Towada Kanko Electric Railway Line, or Tōtetsu.

The JR portion of the station has two platforms with three lines. They have the following uses:
- Track 1: Trains toward Aomori
- Track 2: Trains toward Hachinohe
- Track 3: Trains reversing direction or waiting
The Tōtetsu station is a two-minute walk from the JR station. It has one platform serving two lines at ground level.

[edit] History
Misawa Station opened (under the name Komaki Station) in 1894. It became part of the national system with the nationalization of 1906. The Towada Kanko Line began operations in 1922. The station took its present name in 1961. It became part of the JR system when the Japanese National Railways (JNR) was privatized in 1987.
