Misak Metsarents

Misak Metsarents (Armenian: Միսաք Մեծարենց, 1886 - 1908) was a leading Western Armenian poet.

Metsarents (birth name Metsaturian) was born in Agn (Egin). His first works were published in 1903. He is the author of the verse collections "Rainbow" and "New songs" (both published 1907). His lyrical poetry contains sorrowful meditations about the fate of the Armenian people, under the sultan's yoke. Metsarents experienced the influence of French symbolism. Romantic lyrical content occupies a significant portion of his verses.
