Mirpur (Bengali: মিরপুর) is a Thana of Dhaka District in the Division of Dhaka, Bangladesh. It is bounded by Pallabi Thana to the north, Mohammadpur Thana to the south, Kafrul and Pallabi thanas to the east - to the west it is bounded by Savar Upazila.[1]

According to the 1991 census of Bangladesh, Mirpur had a population of 641,630, of which males constitute 54.15% and females 45.85%. [2] 360,210 were over the age of 18, and the average literacy rate was 59.4% (7+ years), compared to the national average of 32.4%. Recently Mirpur Thana has been divided into other three thanas named as Shah Ali,Pallabi and Kafrul.[3]
