Mirchi Bada (chili cutlet)is a spicy Indian snack consisting of chili (Mirchi) and potato stuffing. Serve hot with tomato sauce. Also preferred with mint and tamarind chutney. Very filling for its size.
Mirchi Bada of Jodhpur, Rajasthan is very famous. Its amazing to know that secret of unique taste lies in water of that region. Mirchi bada along with another Jodhpur's specialty the 'Mawa Kachori' dipped in sugary syrup, forms a good combination.

The popular Mirchi Bada of Jodhpur is prepared with Capsicum, but other variety of chillies is also used.
The ingredients vary among different part of country and among different cultures. At many places it is also known as Mirchi Vada.

Main Ingredients:
• Large green chili
• Boiled potatoes
For batter:
• Gram flour (besan) - 1 cup
• Turmeric powder - 2 pinches
• Salt to taste
• Water as required
For filling:
• Potatoes - 3 large ones
• Red chilli powder - 1 tsp
• Coriander leaves chopped fine - 1/2
• Salt to taste
• Chaat masala
Method of preparation:
Slit the peppers, remove seeds and keep aside.
Boil potatoes with salt. Peel and mash them well. Add chilly powder, chaat masala and coriander leaves. Mix well. Make a thick batter with the flour, turmeric powder ,salt.
Fill the chillies with the potato mix. Dip the filled peppers in the batter till they are completely covered. Fry them in preheated oil till golden brown.
