[edit] History
Mirapoint was founded in 1997 by Satish Ramachandran (founder of Portola Communications - later acquired by Netscape and the base product used to develop Netscape Messaging Server)[2]. He recruited Bryan Yamamoto and Bradley Taylor to assist in the development of the company, forming the initial 3 founders of Mirapoint
The company was first named Nila Systems, Inc. and later incorporated and changed their name to Mirapoint in December of 1998. They worked out of Yamamoto's home in Redwood City before moving into the first corporate headquarters at 110 Constitution Drive in Menlo Park in 1998. After the introduction of the M100 and M1000 in December, the company moved the headquarters to Two Results Way in Cupertino in 1999.
Sometime around 2002, the company moved again to their current headquarters in Sunnyvale at 909 Hermosa Court. At the height of their success, the company employed around 200 people. Today, Mirapoint continues to operate, but as a funded operation of HighBAR Ventures.
