Miranda Isabella Sanchez is a fictional character from the Disney Channel TV Series Lizzie McGuire. Miranda is played by Lalaine.

[edit] Family

It is stated in many episodes that Miranda and her family are from Mexico and they follow all its cultures and holidays. The Halloween episode shows her family celebrating The Day Of The Dead. She also knows some Spanish when the gang attempt to go on a Spanish game show, but not enough to be very helpful.

She is shown babysitting a baby sister in one episode; this is the only sibling she is portrayed as having in the series, but a planned spinoff for which a pilot episode was filmed but never aired featured Miranda's sister, Stevie Sanchez, as the title character and made her just a few years younger than Miranda.

Near the end of the series, Miranda no longer appeared on the show, and she was said to have gone to visit her grandmother.

[edit] Personality

Miranda is sort of a rebel girl. She is known to forge notes in order to get out of P.E. She is not too bad, although Lizzie thinks she is a thief as shown in the episode In Miranda Lizzie Doesn't Trust. Miranda also takes things a little too seriously; in one episode she stops eating as a way of gaining "control" in her life. If upset, Miranda will often ramble on about her problems. She tends to be more judgmental about things than her friends Lizzie and Gordo.

[edit] Love relationships

  • In "Working Girl" Matt falls in love with Miranda. Nothing too serious happens.
  • In "The Greatest Crush Of All", Miranda, along with other girls in the class, has a crush on the new English teacher Mr. Keith.
  • In "My Fair Larry", Miranda refuses to ask class nerd Larry Tudgeman (who dated Lizzie once in an earlier episode) to a party she is throwing, but Lizzie gives him a makeover and Miranda is surprised to find him attractive. No known relationship comes of this, however.
  • In "I Do, I Don't", Miranda is married to Ethan Craft for a school project, but the two break up because Ethan was going to dump her for Kate.
