Mir Yousuf Ali Khan Salar Jung III or Salar Jung III, 1889-1949, was Prime Minister of the seventh Nizam of Hyderabad. He was a nobleman belonging to the Salar Jung family. His collection is on display at Salar Jung Museum, and is credited as being the largest one man collection of antiques in the world.
He succeeded Maharaja Sir Kishen Pershad as the Prime Minister in 1912 when he was only 23 years old, but resigned two and half years later.
He was one of India's richest nawabs, and was passionate about collecting rare relics, artifacts, manuscripts and antiques. He is believed to have spent a lion's share of his money on his collection over a period of 35 years. The collection, though now at new location, was exhibited privately at their residence, Dewan Devdi until its relocation in 1968.
He never married, and remained single his whole life. He died on 2 March 1949.
