Mio in the Land of Faraway (Swedish title: 'Mio min Mio') is a 1987 film produced in cooperation by companies from Sweden, Norway, and the Soviet Union. It was directed by Vladimir Grammatikov and is based on the novel Mio, my Mio by Astrid Lindgren.

Bosse (Nicholas Pickard) is a little boy living with adoptive parents who treat him badly and regret ever taking him in. One night he leaves and while wandering the streets, stumbles upon a genie in a bottle who takes him to the Land of Faraway, a magical place where his real father is the King. There Bosse discovers that his real name is Mio and together with his new friend Jum-Jum (Christian Bale) they go to defeat the evil knight Kato (Christopher Lee) to set free the children kidnapped by him.
