[edit] License tagging for Image:MinsiWinterCamp.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:MinsiWinterCamp.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 14:08, 27 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Non-free use disputed for Image:CampMinsi 2007 Patch.jpg

Warning sign This file may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:CampMinsi 2007 Patch.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted after seven days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 01:56, 2 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Image source problem with Image:CampMinsi 2007 Patch.jpg

Image Copyright problem

This is an automated message from a robot. You have recently uploaded Image:CampMinsi 2007 Patch.jpg. The file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 21:12, 16 September 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. If you believe you received this message in error, please notify the bot's owner. Please take care to avoid canvassing as it is frowned on. Thanks. Cruftbane 20:30, 14 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Patch uploads

FYI, scanning or photocopying a patch does not give you rights to it. The copyright to the patch scans you uploaded is owned by whatever council or organization created the patches themselves. Has the council itself released these patches into the public domain? If not, we will need to delete them. --B 21:50, 15 October 2007 (UTC)

The organization that created the patches has released them to the public domain. I am affiliated with the organization and have gotten permission by said organization head to upload the images here. MinsiPatches 17:18, 22 October 2007 (UTC)

then you need to have it put into OTRS. Rlevse 18:28, 22 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Recent AFDs

When opening an AFD, please be sure to add {{subst:afd3|pg=PAGENAME}} to the AFD log (step 3 on the AFD template, which includes a link to today's log). I've gone ahead and done this for you. Thank you. Someguy1221 18:04, 22 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] What kind of [editor] are you?

So, you lost your article. Camp Minsi. This justifies nominating a bunch of other articls for deletion? Some show of Scout Spirit. Not only are you a [deleted], but now I doubt anyone will try and revive your article. IDIOT! 172.134.136.206 00:55, 23 October 2007 (UTC)

I didn’t take the actions that I did out of spite, or revenge, or any type of “sore loser”-ness, or just to be a jerk – the Minsi article’s deletion and the discussion leading up to it, showcased what constitutes an article on a local camp as notable and it set somewhat of a precedent that non-notable camp articles were superfluous and not an appropriate part of Wikipedia – the articles I nominated were in the same boat (if not a worse one) than the Minsi article was, and therefore they should also be considered for deletion. If Minsi is not appropriate to keep neither should any of the articles I nominated for deletion – I was trying to help clean things up and make things more uniform, balanced, fairly enforced, organized, less biased and more on track with the ultimate goals of the whole Wikipeida project. And if any of the articles on local council camps that I viewed being of equal or lesser notability that I nominated were actually notable, or in a class above the rest, or appropriate and fitting to be coverd by Wikipedia – then they should have no problem surviving the nomination with a speedy keep.
And please don’t accuse me acting on bad faith -- Assume good faith. And before you preach about living scout spirit you should look at point 4, 5, 6 and 11 of the Scout Law before calling someone a “fucking idiot”. And hiding behind an anonymous IP address when you tell me this is a class act as well. Also the Minsi article was not my article, it was the whole Wikipedia community's. • If you ever want to have some credibility among the scouters here, I suggest you go back and ask that those AfDs get withdrawn. That was not cool. --evrik (talk) 03:47, 23 October 2007 (UTC)
