[edit] Mint marks or mintmarks?

We're ridiculously inconsistent throughout Wikipedia in our usage of "mint mark" versus "mintmark".

Even this article, sadly, can't seem to make up its mind. The dictionary, by the way, seems to favour "mintmark", but I personally agree with Alan Herbert, whose excellent "Minting Varieties and Errors" is absolute in its use of "mint mark". I'd like to get some commentary before I go changing this everywhere.--chris.lawson 02:01, 6 June 2006 (UTC)

Personally, I've always been under the impression it was one word: mintmark. But, 6 of one, half dozen of the other really. Joe I 03:17, 6 June 2006 (UTC)
