Talk:Ming Pao Daily News (Toronto)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
If the Toronto and Vancouver editions of Ming Pao are identical, perhaps this article should be renamed to Ming Pao (Canada), or something similar. Kurieeto 17:46, May 21, 2005 (UTC)
- Actually there are some differences between the two. I don't know about the Toronto edition, but the Vancouver edition is officially known as the "Western Canada edition". Its local news section is primarily geared towards Vancouver, with some coverage of the rest of BC and Alberta. (And obviously, the advertisements are different too.)
- However, other sections of the paper (Hong Kong/International news, sports, entertainment, etc.) are common between the two editions AFAIK. And IMO, the differences between the two editions aren't enough to warrant separate articles for each, so I might just rename this article to Ming Pao (Canada) soon, and edit its content accordingly. If someone else wants to do that now, go ahead. - Hinto 19:44, 9 August 2005 (UTC)

- The Toronto edition is known as "Eastern Canada Edition" (加東版), and the New York edition is known as "美東版" (forgot about the English name).
-
- Besides the local news section, the supplements (free magazines) are also different. The Saturday magazines, AFAIK, are mostly local content and therefore quite different between Canada Eastern and Western editions. The Sunday magazine, mostly HK content, is probably mostly identical. Not familiar with the paper any more to say anything more :D
