Talk:MindCandy

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I'd be a little cautious about making this page, unless you can assert that the DVD has had some kind of notable effect on culture. Given its appearance at art shows and presentations, that might be possible. My intent was to keep MindCandy in the Hornet Archive article for the time being. Also, there's a band (albeit obscure) called Mindcandy.

I'll give it a wait-and-see. If you can come up with more content than on the Hornet page, great, otherwise I may convert it into a redirect. --Vossanova 15:02, 10 April 2006 (UTC)

To be honest, I was originally planning a redirect. But from a cultural standpoint it should probably have its own article. Its effect on one subculture is undeniable, and as you mentioned, it has appeared at art shows and presentations. A while back at my university, some students organized a computer presentation where the compilation was prominently featured.
In any case, with the upcoming release of an Amiga volume I think it is important to have a stand alone article. I'm pretty sure the release will be somewhat publicized, and those wishing to seek more information about the compilation (or the project involved) can do so without having to sift through related demoscene articles. On the other hand, I know next to nothing about the production effort/process, and the article as it stands is a rather poorly written stub. I'll see what I can do later on.
