- I found Latvian lyrics and translated those, but I was pretty sure that Livonian lyrics have slightly different meaning. Out of curriosity I tried to dechiper it. As it seems that tere is no other english translation available on the web, I'm going to add what I managed to unpuzzle, translating Latvian lyrics in spots were I couldn't find translation for Livonian word. Here is list of all words used in the song (in bold) and ideas on what they mean (blank space=no idea), feel free to add to this list if you know the meaning of some word.
amā - all, āndabõd - give ?, ārmaz - conjugation form for "to love", ātõ - is ?, ēļ - could this be typo and acctualy the word is kēļ ?, īd - there ?, īed - night ?, īlmas - in world ?, izā-mō - father-land, jelābõd - to live ?, kalāmīed - fishermen, kazābõd - to grow, kis - who, kūltõb -, kus - where, lāinõd - wave, mier-stõ - sea-?, min - my, mīer - sea ?, pǟl - on, pǟvad - day ?, piedāgõd - pines, pivā - holy, rānda - shore, seashore, cost, rāndan - case form for "cost", rānda-kēļ - cost-language=Livonian language, rānda-naigās - cost-? , could be seashore, sa - you, set - only, sindi-mō - birth-land=land of birth=native land sūdõ -, tõurõz - dear, um - am, is, un - and ?, ūod - are, vanād - old, vel - still, more, vīerõbõd -, vizād - hard, tough, mierstõ vīerõbõd- could mean to roll from sea -- Xil/talk 12:31, 18 May 2007 (UTC)
