Minu Barati (born 1976 in Iran) is a German movie producer in Berlin and wife of former German foreign minister Joschka Fischer.

[edit] Parentage and childhood
Minu Barati is daughter of Dr. Mehran Barati (aka Dr. Nosratollah Barati-Novbari), a former member of the oppositional Democratic Party of Iranian Kurdistan. Her father is a survivor of the Mykonos restaurant assassinations in Berlin.

Barati attended the Königin-Luise-Stiftung, a private school in Berlin-Zehlendorf. Afterwards she studied at the "Deutsche Film und Fernsehakademie" (dffb) in Berlin. Currently Minu Barati is working for the Cologne action concept Film- und Stuntproduktion GmbH.

In 1999 Minu Barati gave birth to a daughter. Since the summer of 2003 she has been in a relationship with Joschka Fischer and became his fifth wife on 29 October 2005. The wedding took place in Rome. The couple has not yet had any children together and live with Barati's daughter in Berlin-Grunewald.
