Minturn, California

Minturn, California is a very small community in Madera County, California, approximately one mile (1.5 km) northwest of Chowchilla. Its name is apparently derived from the family of Jonas (ca. 1819-1882) and Abby West (ca. 1816- ?) Minturn (m. 1843), who settled in the area in the 19th century and who are buried nearby.

The Minturn Nut Company is located nearby at at 8800 S. Minturn Road.
