Minoru Segawa (瀬川美能留; Segawa Minoru) was the president of Nomura Securities between 1959 - 1968.
Segawa was born in 1906, the child of a respected school teacher. His father had to leave teaching due to poor eyesight and resorted to hauling firewood to scrape a living. The sight of his father hauling firewood around haunted Segawa for the rest of his life.
Segawa joined Nomura in 1929 and few doubted that he would rise to the top. He became one of the most powerful and influential men in Japan during the 1960s.
