[edit] Current Campus
Outside of transfers, students come to Minooka Community High School from three feeder school districts, Minooka Community Consolidated School District 201, Channahon School District 17, and Troy Community Consolidated School District 30-C. Additions have been made to the building over the years. The first addition added hallways to the ends of the existing hallways to create two square hallways coming off of the main walkways. With that addition in the 90's Minooka added more technology and classroom space. Next came the new physical education department space added in the last 4 or 5 years. This addition created more room for PE classes along with driver's ed classrooms and more. The other big addition was building a new lunch room. This class panel, rounded room is the location of lunch, after school programs, athletic practices, concerts, musicals & plays and the homecoming dance. In the front of the building are trailers that are used for extra classroom space.
Minooka Community High School is in the process of supplementing its current building in Minooka with a $52.4 million building to be located in the Village of Channahon which will house Freshmen and Sophomores when it opens in 2008. At that same time, the current Minooka campus will house Juniors and Seniors. When district enrollment approaches 3,000 students (estimated at 2014), Phase II of the Channahon campus will begin, resulting in a full, stand-alone high school for 2,000 students. The current Minooka campus will also be retrofitted at that time to increase its capacity to house 2,000 students. Both buildings will then house a total of 4,000 District 111 students.
