[edit] Brazilian influences
Minokamo boasts one of the largest Brazilian populations in all of Japan. With its own Brazilian schools, football teams and grocery stores, Minokamo receives a significant amount of Latin American influence. In saying so, Minokamo is not that different from the 'typical' Japanese suburb. The Japanese and Brazilian cultures have not amalgamated to form a multicultural mash in Minokamo; rather, important festivals like Carnaval come and go unnoticed. One would barely notice that a foreign population inhabits the place were it not for the different clothing styles the Brazilian teenagers sport.[citation needed]
