The Minneapolis / Duluth Corridor is a proposed passenger rail service between the Twin Cities and Duluth.
If operational, it would be the first passenger rail line servicing Duluth since 1985, when Amtrak ceased its operations to the city. Feasibility studies are being conducted by various counties that the rail line would run through, but it could be up and running as early as 2012. The rail line could reduce congestion along I-35 because of the increased traffic going to the casino in Hinckley and tourists visiting Duluth.
