Ministry of State Security (Transnistria)

The Ministry of State Security (MGB) ( Russian: Министерство государственной безопасности (Ministerstvo Gosudarstvennoi Bezopasnosti)) is the name of the Transnistrian secret service. It was formed on the 16-th of May, 1992. The Headquarters is in Tiraspol, Manoilov Street, 42. Its head is Vladimir Antyufeyev, a former KGB-Officer. Head of the department for the protection of the constitution since 1992 is Dmitriy Soin.
The Soviet secret police agency from 1946 to 1953 and the communist secret police in former German Democratic Republic (East Germany) were also named "Ministry for State Security".
