Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment (India)

The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment , a branch of the Government of India, is the apex body for welfare, social justice and empowerment of disadvantaged and marginalised section of the society such as Scheduled Caste, Backward Classes, Persons with Disabilities, Aged Persons, and victims of Drug Abuse etc in India. As of May 2008, head of the ministry is the Minister of State Subbulakshmi Jagadeesan.[1]
