Ministry of Rural Development (India)

The Ministry of Rural Development, a branch of the Government of India, is entrusted with the task of accelerating the socio-economic development of rural India. Its focus is on areas like agricultural productivity, sanitation solutions, employment generation, food security, etc. as of May 2008, the Minister in charge of Rural Development is Raghuvansh Prasad Singh (of the Rashtriya Janata Dal).
