Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (India)

The Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises , a branch of the Government of India, is the apex body for formulation and administration of the rules and regulations and laws relating to Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises in India. As of May 2008, head of the ministry is the Cabinet Minister Mahavir Prasad.[1]

The President of India under Notification dated 9 May 2007 amended the Government of India (Allocation of Business)Rules, 1961. Pursuant to this amendment, Ministry of Agro and Rural Industries (India) and Ministry of Small Scale Industries (India) have been merged into a single Ministry, Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises.
