Minister for the Olympics

The Minister for the Olympics is a position within the United Kingdom Government created in July 2005 as a result of the selection of London to host the 2012 Summer Olympics.
Tessa Jowell, the Minister for the Olympics and Paralympics was also the Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport until the resignation of Tony Blair. In Gordon Brown's cabinet, she retains only her Olympics and Paralympics portfolio.
