Minimal wave

Minimal Wave is a genre of electronic music that became most prominent from the period 1979-1986. During this time minimal electronic music was being created with the use of analog synthesizers and drum machines. Bands were also incorporating guitars into this music hence the "wave" element. Thus Minimal Wave music is a combination of the following genres : coldwave, electronic, new wave, minimal synth, electropop, and minimal electronic. Many of the more obscure 80's New Wave bands are known as Minimal Wave. Some noteworthy Minimal Wave bands include : Oppenheimer Analysis, Absolute Body Control, Ensemble Pittoresque, Los Iniciados, Stratis, Snowy Red, Sudeten Creche, Transparent Illusion, Linear Movement, and A Blaze Colour. Many of the Minimal Wave bands were influenced by Kraftwerk, OMD, Depeche Mode, and the Human League. Look at http://www.minimal-wave.org
