Minh Souphanousinphone is a fictional character on the Fox animated series King of the Hill. She is voiced by Lauren Tom.
Minh is the wife of Kahn Souphanousinphone and together they have a daughter, Kahn Jr., more commonly referred to as "Connie." Though originally attracted to Kahn because he was a rebel, Minh is highly driven and status-conscious. The Souphanousinphones are originally from Laos, except for Connie, who was born in Orange County, California. Later episodes reveal that the Souphanousinphones lived in Anaheim prior to relocating to Arlen. Even though she shares her husband's spite for their "redneck neighbors", and derives joy from seeing them humiliated, she is friends with Peggy Hill and Nancy Gribble, who also derive joy in seeing Minh humiliated. She is less caustic towards them than her husband is, and criticizes him when his abuse threatens to hurt their status. Along with her husband, she disapproved of Connie dating Bobby, preferring Chane Wasonasong; nevertheless, she has also told Connie that ultimately she must follow her own heart at the matter, as opposed to Kahn, who endlessly tries to manipulate her.
Her father was a General in the Laotian Army and never liked Kahn, due to his rebelliousness . She also tells Connie that the story she tells others when she and Kahn met at a national science fair in Laos was indeed a lie and that they really met at a discotheque in Laos during the 1970's. At the time she met Kahn, she was dating another man who was the Vice President of a major corporation that her father "loved like a son" and pushed him on Minh in order to sway her from Kahn. Ultimately, Minh had to choose for herself between the "corporate boy" or the "bad boy". She also aided Peggy Hill in her culinary skills, though she did so only in advising her to add nutmeg after sampling every dish.
Minh is currently the president of the Arlen Gun Club, succeeding Dale Gribble.
