From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Mindy Greiling is a DFL Representative in the Minnesota House of Representatives, representing District 54A, which contains part or all of Roseville, St. Anthony, and Lauderdale.
Greiling was first elected as the Minnesota Representative in District 54B in 1992, after five years serving on the Roseville School Board. Following the Minnesota redistricting in 2002, Greiling shifted to District 54A, whose previous incumbent, Mary Jo McGuire, no longer lived in that district. (McGuire retired to avoid running against a fellow Democrat in her new district, 66B.) Greiling has continued to represent District 54A since, and she is currently in her eighth term in office.
Greiling is an advocate of education, environmental issues, and mental health issues. She is the current K-12 Education Finance Committee Chair. [1] Greiling also founded and chaired the Mental Health Caucus, a bipartisan committee formed from the Minnesota House and the Minnesota Senate. She previously served as the Assistant Minority Leader in the Minnesota House for the 2003-2004 Legislative Session. [2]
Greiling graduated from Gustavus Adolphus College in 1970 and obtained a Masters in Education from the University of Minnesota in 1975. She is married to Roger Greiling and has two children.
