Mindarie Senior College is a senior school located in the northern suburb of Mindarie, Perth, Western Australia. Mindarie Senior College accommodates for year 11 and 12 students. The school has a four and a half day school week, giving students Wednesday as a flexible 'subject free day' to undertake Work Placement Programs or to Study.
In 2005 the College was awarded the award of excellence 'School of the Year' by the west coast school districts. [1] The school was also awarded 1st place in a state wide competition for its celebrations of ANZAC day, winning the Australian Government ANZAC Day Schools’ Award (secondary school category).[2]
In 2006, two members of staff, Rick Gendle and Alan Kemp were nominated for teacher of the year awards. [3]
The school boasts the latest in modern architecture and technology. Extensions of the school were completed in mid 2007 to accommodate for the large demand for enrollment. This is a direct, positive reflection on the college's 'Young Adult Ethos', which places the trust of the staff upon the students and has worked successfully since its inception.
