[edit] History
- 1650-1873: The area was (in)famous as the location of the Kotsukappara execution grounds. It is estimated that during the Tokugawa era, between 100,000 and 200,000 people died here. Towards the south exit of the Tokyo Metro station, a small temple and burial ground commemorates this. Part of the burial grounds currently lie beneath the Hibiya Line tracks.
- 1896-12-25: Jōban Line station opens.
- 1961-03-28: Hibiya Line station opens.
- 2005-08-24: Tsukuba Express station opens.
