Image talk:MINGKWAI.jpg
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I can find out the copyright information but I need some more time. Can I have until may 30?
[edit] here is what I found out about this picture
This is a photo from a book by Bruce Bliven, Jr., The Wonderful Writing Machine published by Random House in 1954. The same photo was in a Business week article on August 30, 1947. The photograph itself was some sort of promotional material, advertising collateral, I think is what they call it.
Anyhow, I am going to guess that this may now be fair use???

Objection to fair use was WP:NFCC #8 (significance) on August 10 2007
The legal standard for significance is quite low versus the benefit. The Mingkwai typewriter is a historical artifact. There should be a picture so that people can identify it.
The key to the significance objection is that it can be replaced by a free image without harm.
I know that there is also a school of thought that says that its less of a problem if the resolution is low. If that can tip the balance, then fine. However, I dispute that this is necessary because generally that is weighted against the idea that the image is to sell the product. There is no "market" for the Mingkwai as the typewriter is no longer made. It is a historical artifact.
